Kraken & Oilers Discussing Jordan Eberle Trade
The Edmonton Oilers made quite the splash landing Adam Henrique and Sam Carrick from the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday and it turns out GM Ken Holland is far from done. The Oilers are in advanced talks with the Seattle Kraken to acquire a familiar face, in Kraken forward Jordan Eberle.
Eberle spent parts of seven seasons in Edmonton after being selected in the first-round back in 2008. He's a pending free agent who the Kraken are looking to cash in on, even though they are within reach of the second wild-card spot in the West.
Eberle has recorded 37 points in 58 games this season and has 47 points in 76 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. He'd jump immediately into the Oilers top six. Eberle owns a modified no-trade clause which protects him from 16 teams, however a return to Edmonton is apparently something he desires.
One name to watch out of Edmonton is Evander Kane. There's been some rumblings that he's been involved in separate trade talks and while he may not be included here, there's a chance he's dealt by Holland before Friday afternoon.
Here's the very latest on the Eberle market as things are heating up on Thursday:

Seattle and Eberle are working on an extension, but it sounds like term is the hang-up. If Seattle doesn't have Eberle signed, he will be moved prior to Friday's deadline.

If the Oilers are really in on Eberle, they likely need to shed a contract, and quickly.

If that's the case, Warren Foegele would be the target for #NYR. pic.twitter.com/kQNAYQ60cJ
