Major Moves Coming from the Buffalo Sabres
The Buffalo Sabres made a 'hockey trade' before this season's deadline, shipping out Casey Mittelstadt in exchange for defenseman Bowen Byram. The Sabres look to build their back end around Byram, Owen Power and Rasmus Dahlin, meanwhile expect something more to come from the Sabres this upcoming offseason.
Buffalo GM Kevyn Adams will have $22 million to spend this summer and with some stellar free-agent forwards available, Adams is going to be a major player at the draft - on the trade market, and during free agency:
Friedman on Sabres trading Mittelstadt for Byram (32TP): "It's like the first step, you can see there is going to be more here from Buffalo"

The Sabres haven't been able to get over the hump and into the playoff picture, despite a slew of young talented players, and are expected to make significant offers to the likes of Sam Reinhart, Steven Stamkos, Jake Guentzel and Jonathan Marchessault.
Devon Levi appears to be the goaltender of the future and will be given some more time to develop into a true #1 netminder. Some potential trade candidates include Jeff Skinner and Jordan Greenway.
Keep an eye on the Sabres this summer, Adams is on the clock to get this team over the hump and if he doesn't have a successful offseason, he'll be looking for work before next season's over. Worth noting with Kyle Okposo out, look for Rasmus Dahlin to be named captain in the very near future.
