TRADE: Pat Maroon Heading to the Bruins

The Boston Bruins have just added some serious toughness to the lineup, acquiring Pat Maroon from the Minnesota Wild in return for a draft pick.

Maroon and the Bruins do have a history, but we're pretty sure that he and Brad Marchand will be happy to team up with each-other and wreak havoc on opponents together.

Then there's the Jack Edwards fiasco, when the NESN broadcaster fat-shamed Maroon during a broadcast in 2022.

“Listed at 238 pounds, that was Day 1 of training camp, I’ve got a feeling he’s had a few more pizzas between then and now," said Edwards during the play call.

The two did eventually hash it out.

A lot of interesting reunions coming for Maroon off the ice in the days ahead. On the ice, the fourth-line tough guy will likely continue to do his thing on opposing players who dare to cross the Bruins. Last season, the 6'3", 243-pound forward led the entire NHL in penalty minutes, with 150. He has only 60 PIM thus far this season, still not exactly Lady Byng territory, but expect that to ratchet up in his new home and as the playoffs hit.

Maroon has 16 points in 49 games this season for the Wild, playing over 12 minutes tonight.
