Oilers Rumors: 4 Teams Linked to Cody Ceci

The Edmonton Oilers are a team to watch very closely during this week, as they are expected to be among the NHL's biggest buyers. However, due to their cap situation, there is a real shot that we will see them move some of their roster players to land upgrades. One player who has been generating some buzz in the rumor mill because of it is defenseman Cody Ceci.

Ceci is starting to form a bit of a trade market, too, as The Fourth Period recently reported that the Calgary Flames, Philadelphia Flyers, Anaheim Ducks, and Montreal Canadiens are all interested in acquiring him.

The Flames are certainly in a position to take a shot on Ceci. Their defense has been completely changed this season, as Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov have been traded. Noah Hanifin will be the next one out the door. Thus, adding an experienced defenseman like Ceci would make sense for Calgary.

The Flyers could use a player like Ceci when looking at their current situation. Rasmus Ristolainen is out, while both Nick Seeler and Sean Walker could be moved before the deadline.

The Ducks just traded one of their right-shot defenseman, Ilya Lyubushkin, to the Toronto Maple Leafs, so they could be open to adding a Ceci in a potential trade. The Oilers have been linked to several of Anaheim's forwards.

As for the Canadiens, Ceci could be a player that they are willing to take on, along with other assets, if they move David Savard to the Oilers.
