Penguins Rumors: 3 Offers on the Table for Jake Guentzel
The Pittsburgh Penguins are trading Jake Guentzel and it sounds like it could be coming down the pipe before Wednesday evening. TSN's Darren Dreger with more:
Sources say the Penguins are hoping to have a trade in place for Jake Guentzel by tomorrow evening. Pittsburgh is open to quality over quantity in return, but would like a 1st, young NHL player, plus prospects. Flexibility comes in the calibre of prospect or roster player.

Chris Johnston of TSN also chimed in and while there's been plenty of talks about a potential contract extension being included in the deal, which would drive up the asking price, it doesn't sound like that's going to be the case in this deal:
The expectation is that Guentzel will be dealt by the #pens as a rental. It doesn't sound like potential acquiring teams have shown much interest in trying to work out an extension as part of the trade. https://t.co/rrzm7370lR

Guentzel returned to Penguins practice today and appears he'll be back in the lineup sometime this week, it just won't be for the Penguins. The prolific scorer is the best forward available on the trade market and so far this season in 50 appearances, the 29-year-old has scored 22 times and recorded 52 points. He's scored 40 twice in his career and has produced in the playoffs, collecting 58 points in 58 postseason games.
The three offers on the table are reportedly from the Canucks, Golden Knights and Hurricanes. Guentzel owns a 12-team no-trade clause and so far the favorites to complete a deal with Kyle Dubas and the Penguins appear to be the Canucks.
