Predators Acquire Anthony Beauvillier From Blackhawks
The Nashville Predators have added to their forward group, as they have acquired Anthony Beauvillier from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round pick.
Beauvillier was an under-the-radar trade candidate leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. This is because he is on an expiring contract on a rebuilding Blackhawks club, and now he is on the move for the second time this season because of it.
The Predators have been a nice surprise this season and emerged as buyers for the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline because of it. While Beauvillier is not a major splash, he will provide Nashville with a bit more secondary production for their bottom six.
Beauvillier, 26, has appeared in 45 games this season split between the Vancouver Canucks and Blackhawks, posting four goals to go along with 14 points. Overall, it has been a fairly quiet season from him, but maybe this change of scenery could help him get things back on track. Keep in mind, he had 40 points in 82 games just last season split between the New York Islanders and Canucks.
Nevertheless, this is a good minor move for the Predators. It will be interesting to see how well he performs in Nashville from here.
