Rangers Rumors: Frank Vatrano "Next Up On Team's Wishlist"

After acquiring Alex Wennberg from the Seattle Kraken, the New York Rangers do not appear to be done, with Frank Vatrano emerging as the next coveted target on their wishlist, according to Vincent Mercogliano.

Sitting atop the Metropolitan Division standings, the Rangers are keen on bolstering their roster, and Vatrano's name has gained significant traction in their discussions.

Despite their interest, securing Vatrano's services may prove challenging, as the Anaheim Ducks are reportedly seeking substantial assets in return for the talented forward.

Vatrano has already blown past his previous career highs, in 19 fewer games, scoring 29 goals, 20 assists, and 49 total points over 62 games played this year.

As negotiations unfold, Vatrano's availability presents a compelling opportunity for the Rangers to enhance their offensive depth.

With his scoring ability and versatility, Vatrano aligns well with the Rangers' quest to strengthen their lineup for a strong playoff push.

The 29-year-old had a career-best season last year, putting up 22 goals, 19 assists, and 41 total points across 81 games, and, as previously mentioned, he's already surpassed those numbers in 19 fewer games this season.

The potential acquisition of Vatrano would be huge for the Rangers, who are already the hottest team in the league, currently 9-1 in their last 10 games, and sit atop of the Metropolitan Division.

Vatrano had a brief stint with the Rangers in 2021-22, amassing eight goals and 13 points over 22 games with the team.
