Report: Edmonton Oilers Open to Trading 3 Players

Edmonton Oilers GM Ken Holland is going to be busy these next seven days as he looks to get his roster prime for a Stanley Cup Playoff run. There's still a lot of work to be done and conversations are ongoing with several teams.

The Oilers are reportedly looking to add a top-six forward and upgrade their defense and while there's going to be some talent coming in, there's also some talent likely heading out. According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Oilers have a few players currently on the trade market:

All three players are essentially going to be cap causalities as Holland only has a projected $2.3 million in deadline cap space to work with, meanwhile is looking to acquire some significant pieces who come with big tickets.

Foegele makes $2.75 million and is a pending unrestricted free agent. The veteran winger doesn't have any trade protection. The same can be said for Kulak and Ceci as both blueliners can be moved at will. Ceci is signed through next season at $3.25 million, meanwhile Kulak has two more seasons left on his deal at $2.75 million AAV.

The Oilers have been linked to Buchnevich, Guentzel and Toffoli up front and Walker/Seeler from the Flyers. It seems like their interest in acquiring Jake Allen from Montreal has disappeared and the focus remains adding at least one D and a top-six winger.
