Senators Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Artem Zub

The Ottawa Senators have had a truly disappointing season, and they are expected to be sellers at the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline because of it. Some players who have been discussed heavily in the rumor mill over the last several weeks include Vladimir Tarasenko, Jakob Chychrun, and Dominik Kubalik.

However, defenseman Artem Zub has now been creating some chatter with the deadline less than a week away.

Due to this, let's now discuss three teams who are expected to target Zub.

Edmonton Oilers: It is not a secret that the Edmonton Oilers want to improve the right side of their defensive group. Because of this, they would be smart to try to land Zub. He would be a major upgrade to their right side and their penalty kill as they look to go on a long run this postseason.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning desperately need to improve their defense. Mikhail Sergachev is out indefinitely, and their depth in general is not particularly strong. Bringing in a high-impact defenseman like Zub would help change things on that front.

Calgary Flames: While the Calgary Flames are selling at the trade deadline, they are not looking to rebuild. Instead, they are aiming to stay competitive, and a player like Zub should be on their radar because of it. He has multiple years left on his deal, meaning he would be more than a rental if acquired by the Flames.
