Sharks Rumors: 3 Contract Extension Candidates
The 2024 NHL Trade Deadline saw several teams make moves, and the league looks far different now because of it. However, now that the deadline has passed, we won’t see any more trades until after the season. Although this is the case, we still could see teams sign players to contract extensions. As a result, we here at NHLTR will be going over three contract extension candidates from each team.
In this latest edition of the series, let's focus on the San Jose Sharks.
Thomas Bordeleau: Thomas Bordeleau is a young Sharks forward who is due for his next contract. When noting that he is viewed as a key part of the Sharks' roster moving forward, he could land an extension before the season is over. If not, one during the summer is inevitable.
Luke Kunin: Luke Kunin is a hard-nosed forward who the Sharks would be wise to sign to an extension. He is a pending RFA, so they can wait until the summer. Either way, he is a solid forward who could be a good trade chip for them next season, so getting him signed to another deal would be smart.
Justin Bailey: Justin Bailey has been a solid addition to the Sharks' roster this season. The longtime AHL forward has found a home in the NHL with San Jose, so the could certainly be open to signing him to another cheap contract.
