Sharks Rumors: 3 Teams in Trade Talks for Sharks' Anthony Duclair

The San Jose Sharks are working the phones as GM Mike Grier is in full sell mode. The sharks have a few pending free agents who are gaining interest from other teams and there's nobody more discussed in San Jose right now than Anthony Duclair.

The speedy winger has shown in the past he's capable of putting up numbers in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and there's a number of contenders looking at Duclair as a perfect addition ahead of the trade deadline. Here's the latest on the Duclair market:

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes couldn't find the big goal last season and now they are looking to add some depth scoring before their playoff push. Management has never been afraid to make a bold trade and they even recently made a massive trade offer for Elias Pettersson in Vancouver. Duclair fits into their team dynamics of speed and hard work and while his 13 goals in 54 games is considered a bit of a down season, he's scored 30+ in the past and the 'Canes could use all the help they can get.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks are in on just about everyone right now. Jake Guentzel remains their #1 priority, however the Penguins want a slew of top prospects and so far Patrik Allvin won't bite. The Canucks could turn their attention to Duclair for a much cheaper asking price. So far Grier and the Sharks are holding out for a second-round pick and top prospect and this significant price tag could come down closer to March 8 if the deal isn't in front of them.

Edmonton Oilers

Ken Holland is trying to land one defenseman and at least one forward before March 8 and recently admitted the team is active on the phone lines. While they're out on Guentzel, Duclair could fit in perfectly in Edmonton as he's one of the fastest skaters in the league and has shown the ability to finish. The Oilers are looking for a left-winger for the top six and are very familiar with Duclair's game. He trains with Connor McDavid at points of the offseason so this could be a match made in heaven for both sides.
