TRADE: Jets Acquire Colin Miller From Devils
The Winnipeg Jets are staying busy, as they have acquired defenseman Colin Miller from the New Jersey Devils for a mid-round pick.
This is the second deal of the day between the Jets and the Devils, as they notably acquired star winger Tyler Toffoli from them. Now, they have added to their defensive depth with this Miller acquisition, and he should be a solid pickup for their group.
Miller will be in the running for bottom-pairing minutes with the Jets. Along with that, he should also be considered for playing on their penalty kill because of his steady defensive play and physicality.
Miller has appeared in 41 games during this season, where he has four goals, four assists, 33 blocks, 79 hits, and a plus-10 rating.
With the Devils not holding a playoff spot, it makes sense that they have parted ways with Miller. He is a pending UFA who should provide some value to a playoff club like the Jets. We will need to wait and see how much of an impact he makes while with the Jets from here.
