Very Surprising Blues Player In The Trade Circles

When Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas were signed to identical eight-year deals, it was assumed that they would be the pillars in which the St. Louis Blues retooled around. While Thomas has thrived this season, according to Elliotte Friedman, there is always trade talks about Kyrou in the trade circles.

Kyrou is a very good player, but he has taken a step back from his production the last two seasons. He is only 25 years old and already has multiple 70-point seasons, but it isn't looking that way this season. Kyrou is only in the first year of his eight-year, $8.125 million AAV deal, so whether the Blues are actually entertaining calls on him or other teams are just continuously asking of his availability and price, his name is out there.

Kyrou has proven to be a little streaky and disappears at times. He is a top line winger and can produce offensively at a strong rate. If the Blues were to even consider moving him this early in his long extension, it would have to be this season or next before his to-trade clause kicks in. The Blues would also require a strong return, similar to what the Winnipeg Jets got for Pierre-Luc Dubois, but better. Friedman is a trustworthy source, so what he is hearing is likely true, but I would be shocked if St. Louis moves on from Kyrou because he is a great piece to have and is locked in through his prime.
