19-Year Veteran Jeff Carter Announces Retirement


After an illustrious 19-year career in the NHL, Jeff Carter has announced his retirement from professional hockey.

Beginning as the 11th overall pick by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2003 NHL Draft, Carter's journey traversed through multiple teams, including the Columbus Blue Jackets, Los Angeles Kings, and ultimately, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Throughout his tenure, he amassed a record of 442 goals and 409 assists, totaling 851 points in 1,320 games.

Carter's impact extended far beyond his statistics, with his leadership and experience serving as guiding lights for younger players.

His pivotal role in securing two Stanley Cup victories with the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and 2014 underscored his ability to perform under pressure, solidifying his status as one of hockey's elite players.

Beyond the NHL, Carter achieved international success, including a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

This season, the 39-year-old put up 11 goals and four assists for 15 total points across 72 games played.
