3 Best Contracts On The New York Rangers

The New York Rangers have built something special with their team and they look like a powerhouse. The plan is to continue that into playoffs, but with the group they have assembled and the players outperforming their contracts, everything could fall into place. While there are more good contracts on the team like Ryan Lindgren, K'Andre Miller, Igor Shesterkin, and Jonathan Quick, there are three that are arguably better.

Vincent Trocheck

Vincent Trocheck is having a very underrated season for the Rangers as he leads all forwards in ice time and has stepped up in a major way. He is second on the team to only Artemi Panarin in points with 75 and is the top line center, doing it all including playing physical hockey. Trocheck is in the prime of his career and is under contract for five more years at only $5.625 million AAV. While he and Mika Zibanejad are a strong 1-2 and will be heavily relied upon, Trocheck has outplayed him at $3 million cheaper.

Alexis Lafreniere

This is finally the breakout season for Alexis Lafreniere as he has earned a top line spot and is putting up a good amount of goals and points considering he doesn't get time on the top power-play unit. He's scored 27 goals and 56 points, mostly at five-on-five, and has a cap hit of just $2.325 million AAV through next season. If he somehow found his way onto the top power-play unit, he could be a point-per-game player right now.

Chris Kreider

Chris Kreider is still doing exactly what he gets paid to do, and at a great rate. He has mastered the net front role on the power play and is not only fast, but continues to score and produce. The veteran is still easily a top-six talent at 32 years old and has 38 goals and 70 points in 77 games. While his contract isn't as good as the others at $6.5 million AAV for three more years, it is still a great contract they have on the books.
