3 Best Contracts On The Toronto Maple Leafs
The Toronto Maple Leafs have gotten some big contributions from unexpected places this season, but as expected, they are back in the playoffs. There are some big contracts on the team, but also some good hidden gems this season. Let's have a look.
Max Domi
Max Domi has really stepped up this season and has proven to be a great option in the top-six. The way he is playing, the Maple Leafs would be missing out if they didn't sign him for multiple years after this. After all, he is the type of player a team wants in the playoffs. Domi is on a one-year deal at $3 million AAV, and even though he has just nine goals and 47 points, his playmaking has been very good this season and he has filled a role down the middle when needed.
William Nylander
The Maple Leafs are getting every penny out of the final year of William Nylander's current contract of $6.96 million AAV as he is in the midst of a career year. The Swede has 40 goals and 97 points in 80 games and is playing 20 minutes per night. If not for Auston Matthews, Nylander would easily be the team MVP this season and seems to be worth the money he is getting on his next deal for eight more years.
Bobby McMann
Bobby McMann has seemingly come out of nowhere this season and been a good middle-six option for the Maple Leafs, even spending some time in the AHL. Since his current two-year contract was signed in 2022, he makes under what league minimum in the NHL is right now. His cap hit until the end of the season is $762,000 and he has already been extended for two years. McMann got really hot for a couple of weeks and he has 15 goals and 24 points in 56 games this season.
