Anaheim Ducks Sign Promising Prospect Forward

The Anaheim Ducks have made a notable roster move, as they have signed promising prospect Sam Colangelo to a two-year, entry-level contract. The Ducks also announced that he will join the club immediately.
Colangelo, 22, was selected by the Ducks with the 36th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.
Since then, the Stoneham native has put together a strong collegiate career. The 2023-24 season was his best collegiate campaign, however. After transferring from Northeastern University to Western Michigan University, the skilled forward set new career highs with 24 goals, 19 assists, and 43 points in 38 games. It was a big year for the youngster, and he has now earned this entry-level deal because of it.

Colangelo certainly has good upside, and the way he played this season with Western Michigan effectively displays that. Now, his goal will be to translate his strong offensive talent to the NHL level with a young and rebuilding Ducks squad.

Playing another year of college hockey and switching to a new school clearly helped with Colangelo's development. Let's see how well he performs with the Ducks after signing this ELC from here.
