Blue Jackets Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Ivan Provorov

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Ivan Provorov is expected to be shopped during the offseason. He was reportedly made available leading up to the deadline. While a move did not occur, things could very well change on that front over the summer. Let's discuss three teams who could look to land him now. 

Detroit Red Wings: The Detroit Red Wings were connected to Provorov leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. It is understandable, as the left side of their defense needs a boost, and Provorov would give them that next season if acquired.

Edmonton Oilers: The Edmonton Oilers were in the mix for Provorov and could consider making a push for him over the summer again because of it. He would give their top four a nice boost if acquired and would fit on both of their special team units. 

Tampa Bay Lightning: Improving their defense should be a priority for the Tampa Bay Lightning this offseason. Provorov was on their radar leading up to the deadline and would give their top four a nice jolt if acquired. However, they would need to get creative to fit him in financially.
