Canadiens Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for David Savard
David Savard was a popular name in the rumor mill leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. Several teams were in the mix for his services, but the Montreal Canadiens elected to keep him for the campaign. They are likely to hear offers for him again during the summer, though, and these three clubs should be in the mix.
Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars were connected to Savard at the deadline. It is clear that they would benefit by adding to the right side of their defensive group. This is especially so if they end up losing Chris Tanev through free agency over the summer.
Edmonton Oilers: Adding a top-four right-shot defenseman is certainly on the agenda for the Edmonton Oilers this offseason. It is an area that needs improvement, and adding a strong defensive defenseman like Savard would have the potential to help them big time. He would also give their penalty kill a notable boost as well.
Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs are another team to watch when it comes to Savard. It is well known that they like the player, and they have a clear need on their right side of their defensive group. Savard would give them a much-needed upgrade.
