Carolina Hurricanes' 3 Best Contracts of 2023-24
The Carolina Hurricanes are a very good team this season and they also have a very deep team at all positions. To do that, there are a lot of great contracts on the team. Unfortunately, there will be some major changes next season, but for now, let's look at the best the Hurricanes have in 2023-24.
Martin Necas
Martin Necas broke out last season and has continued his great play through to this season, a contract year. Fortunately he's a RFA, but he still deserves a huge raise from the $3 million AAV he's getting this season. While he has 23 goals and 52 points this season which is a bit of a step back from last season, he is still doing a ton for what he's earning and is without a doubt a top-six forward.
Pyotr Kochetkov
The Hurricanes goalies have been solid this season for the most part. Early on in the season Pyotr Kochetkov was given the opportunity to start for the Hurricanes and ran with it until Frederik Andersen returned from his absence. Kochetkov did very well as the Hurricanes' starter and is 20-13-4 with a 2.38 GAA, .910 SV%, and four shutouts. He is still splitting time with Andersen now, but Kochetkov is signed for three more years after this at just $2 million AAV. He can easily still be a starter for the Hurricanes or any other team.
Stefan Noesen
The Hurricanes are very deep as I mentioned, which means productive players are forced down the lineup to fit everyone in. This means Stefan Noesen, despite having a very solid season as a depth piece, is on the fourth line. Despite playing under 12 minutes per game with a cap hit of $762,500, he has 14 goals and 34 points this season. This is very productive and the Hurricanes won't be able to keep him after the season as he's a UFA and there's many contracts to deal with.
