Kings Rumors: Arthur Kaliyev Likely to be Shopped
Los Angeles Kings forward Arthur Kaliyev generated plenty of trade talk nearing the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. The Kings ultimately decided to keep him in Los Angeles for the rest of the season and did not make any major moves.
While Kaliyev ended up staying put with the Kings at the deadline, there is an expectation that the club will listen to offers for him during the offseason yet again.
Kaliyev has lost his spot as a regular in the Kings' lineup, and there is no question that he could use a change of scenery. When he does get put into the Kings' lineup, he does not receive notable minutes. A move to a new team could help change things on that front.
There is no question that Kaliyev has the potential to become an impactful player at the NHL level. During the 2022-23 season, he had 13 goals to go along with 28 points in 56 contests. With numbers like this, it is apparent that he has the tools to be a strong middle-six forward when in the right situation.
We will need to wait and see what the Kings end up doing with Kaliyev this offseason. Some teams who could look to add him include the Calgary Flames, St. Louis Blues, Washington Capitals, and Pittsburgh Penguins.
