Panthers Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Oliver Ekman-Larsson

After being bought out by the Vancouver Canucks this past offseason, Oliver Ekman-Larsson signed a one-year deal with the Florida Panthers. In the end, it was a decision that has benefitted both him and the Panthers, as he has fit in nicely with Florida. He is showing that he can still produce well offensively from the point. As a result, if the Cats can't get him re-signed and he decides to test the market, there should be interest in him. These three clubs stand out as possible landing spots.

Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes have a number of pending UFA defensemen, and their blue line could look significantly different next season because of it. As a result, they certainly could look to bring in a player like Ekman-Larsson. He would fit on their second pairing or third pairing and be an obvious choice for their blue line.

Washington Capitals: The Washington Capitals are likely going to add to their blue line this offseason. They could use a little more offense from the point specifically, so they could be the kind of club that takes a shot on OEL this summer.

Seattle Kraken: The Seattle Kraken are another club to keep an eye on when it comes to OEL. It has been a tough season for the club, and it is not a secret that the left side of their defense could use more depth. At a reasonable cap hit, OEl would make sense for them.
