Rangers Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Alex Wennberg
Alex Wennberg may not be the biggest pending UFA from this year's class, but he certainly should generate if he hits the market. This is because he is a solid two-way center who provides decent secondary scoring to go along with dependable defensive play. Because of this, if the New York Rangers let him walk this summer, these three teams could certainly be in the mix.
Calgary Flames: The Calgary Flames are likely going to look to improve their depth down the middle this offseason. This is because it is an area that could use some improvement, and the Flames' goal is to be competitive next season. As a result, bringing in a veteran like Wennberg to their bottom six could be worthwhile.
Washington Capitals: The Washington Capitals could consider bringing in Wennberg this offseason. When looking at their roster, he would have the potential to be a solid addition to their middle six. Along with that, he would give their power play a bit of a boost because of his smart passing ability.
Buffalo Sabres: The Buffalo Sabres are going to look to add a veteran third-line center to their roster this offseason. It is a spot in their lineup that needs some improvement, and Wennberg would have the potential to be a good answer for it.
