Sabres Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Summer
Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2024 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.
In this latest edition of the series, we will be focusing on the Buffalo Sabres.
Cam Talbot: The Sabres could look to add a veteran goalie to their roster this offseason. Prospect Devon Levi may benefit from a bit more time in the AHL before making the permanent jump to the NHL. Because of this, the Sabres should consider signing All-Star goalie Cam Talbot to a short-term deal. He would form a solid tandem with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.
Matt Roy: The Sabres should look to improve the right side of their defense this offseason. Matt Roy is an underrated pending UFA who would provide them with a solid boost in their top four if signed. With that, he would become one of their top penalty killers.
Teddy Blueger: The Sabres should also look to add some new bottom-six forwards to their group this offseason. Teddy Blueger would be a solid option for their roster, as he plays a strong defensive game but also chips in offensively. He would work nicely on their third line and be a notable addition to their penalty kill if signed.
