Bystedt, 20, was loaned by the Sharks to Linkoping HC at the start of the season. The skilled forward had a solid campaign for the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) club, posting eight goals to go along with 17 points. Now, he will look to make an impact with the Barracuda for the remainder of the season.
Bystedt was selected by the Sharks with the 27th overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. There is an expectation that the 6-foot-4 forward will become an impactful player later down the road due to his high offensive skill level and quick speed. Now, we will get to see how he performs during his first stint in the AHL.
With the Sharks rebuilding, prospects like Bystedt are expected to become notable parts of the club's roster later down the road. It may take him a little time to make the jump to the NHL, but he will now get an opportunity to show the Barracuda what he can do.
Nevertheless, we will now need to wait and see how well Bystedt performs for the Barracuda for the remainder of this season from here.
