Video: Capitals' Nick Jensen Stretchered Off vs Lightning After Ugly Hit
It was a scary scene on Saturday afternoon as the Washington Capitals and Tampa Bay Lightning faced off. During the late stages of the first period, Caps d-man Nick Jensen was hit from an awkward angle by Lightning forward Mikey Eyssimont.
Jensen laid motionless for several moments while the two teams engaged in a scrum. Eyssimont did not receive a penalty on the play.

Jensen became conscious and alert and was able to move his extremities as he was stretchered off the ice. It was confirmed by the Capitals coaching staff that Jensen walked out of the arena with his family, with is absolutely great news.
In typical 'hockey-code' fashion, Washington forward Nic Dowd challenged Eyssimont to a fight in the second period and the two exchanged blows:
