3 Free-Agent Destinations for Dylan DeMelo

Dylan DeMelo is an underrated defenseman who can hit the free-agent market this summer. While he may not be the biggest name in the NHL, he is a steady top-four minutes who plays big minutes and is reliable defensively. Because of this, he could be a hot commodity this offseason. Let's discuss three teams who could look to sign him now.

Winnipeg Jets: DeMelo has been a key part of the Jets' blueline for quite some time. Given his strong tenure there, it would not be surprising if they looked to re-sign him this summer. He was their top right-shot defenseman this year and losing him would sting because of it.

Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes have multiple right-shot defenseman who they can lose to free agency this offseason. Because of this, they could be in the mix for DeMelo this offseason. He would give their right side a boost and be a key contributor to their penalty kill if signed. 

Toronto Maple Leafs: It is not a secret that the Toronto Maple Leafs desperately need to improve their right side of their defense this summer. DeMelo is one of the top right-shot defenseman who can hit free agency this offseason, so it would not be surprising if the Leafs had him on their radar.
