3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Jonathan Marchessault

Jonathan Marchessault is one of the most notable pending UFAs heading into the 2024 NHL Offseason. He is a legitimate star sniper who, of course, has a Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe Trophy on his resume. Thus, he will be a hot commodity this summer if he hits the market. Let’s discuss three teams that could target him now.

Vegas Golden Knights: The Golden Knights are naturally a possible landing spot for Marchessault. He is a major figure in their franchise history and was still one of their top contributors this offseason. If they can make it work financially, Vegas certainly should want to keep him around.

Utah: Utah is entering the offseason with the expectation of being major spenders. They want to be a competitive team during their first season in Salt Lake City. They need scoring, so don’t be surprised if they make a big push to land Marchessault for their top six from here.

Detroit Red Wings: The Detroit Red Wings could be in the market for a top-six winger this offseason. This is especially true if they lose Patrick Kane this summer. In either scenario, Marchessault would give Detroit a major boost in their top six.
