Blues Rumors: 3 Defensemen Named Trade Candidates

The St. Louis Blues are in the middle of a retooling period. Because of this, there is a real expectation that they will make some moves this summer to switch up their group. Pavel Buchnevich is one player who has been starting to create plenty of chatter in the rumor mill.

However, more Blues are standing out as players who could dealt this summer, as Frank Seravalli listed Torey Krug, Nick Leddy, and Justin Faulk all as trade candidates heading into the 2024 NHL Offseason.

Seravalli noted that the Blues have been looking to change up their blueline over the last multiple seasons, and that is expected to translate over to the summer.

Krug, 33, quietly had a solid season offensively for the Blues, posting four goals to go along with 39 points. However, he did have his struggles defensively, as he recorded a notable minus-31 rating. Teams looking for offense from the point could make a push for him.

Leddy, 33, could grab the attention of some clubs around the NHL. He is still a solid defenseman at this juncture of his career, and the truth is in his stats. In 82 games this season with the Blues, the left-shot defenseman had three goals, 28 points, and a plus-14 rating.

As for Faulk, he is another veteran defenseman that teams could consider adding to their top four. He is coming off another strong campaign, as he had two goals to go along with 30 points in 60 games played.
