Canadiens Rumors: Tanner Pearson Finished in Montreal

The Montreal Canadiens are preparing for a big offseason. The Original Six club wants to take another step forward in their rebuild and should make several moves during the summer because of it.

However, we now have gotten confirmation about one of their top unrestricted free agents. According to NHL insider David Pagnotta, forward Tanner Pearson will not be brought back by the Canadiens.

Pearson, 31, should grab the attention of teams across the NHL. The veteran winger has a plethora of experience and can be a very solid third-line forward when performing at his best. As a result, even after a tough 2023-24 campaign, there should be some clubs out there willing to sign him to a short-term contract.

Pearson appeared in 54 games this past season with the Canadiens, where he had five goals, eight assists, and a minus-2 rating.

Some clubs to watch when it comes to Pearson include the Los Angeles Kings, Chicago Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, and Carolina Hurricanes.

We will now need to wait and see where Pearson ends up from here, but it is clear that he will not back with the Canadiens.
