Canucks Rumors: Elias Lindholm Linked to Metro Club

Elias Lindholm is the Vancouver Canucks’ top free agent heading into the offseason. The star center may have struggled at the beginning of his Canucks tenure, but he picked up his play significantly this postseason. As a result, he will generate a lot of interest if the Canucks can’t successfully re-sign him.

If Lindholm ends up hitting free agency, there is a clear expectation that the Washington Capitals will be one of the main suitors for his services.

The Capitals need to improve their top six, and this is especially the case when it comes to down the middle. As a result, it would not be shocking in the slightest if the Capitals made a serious push for Lindholm in free agency.

Lindholm has also been connected to the Capitals in the past, so there is absolutely no question that he is a player they will at least consider this offseason. He would not only give them a significant boost offensively but also become one of their top penalty killers because of his elite two-way play.

Given how strong of a player Lindholm is, there will be a plethora of teams looking to add him besides the Capitals if he reaches free agency. We will need to wait and see if they end up being the lucky club that lands him from here.
