Carolina Hurricanes Terminate Alexander Pashin's Contract
The Carolina Hurricanes are gearing up to face off against the New York Rangers in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, meanwhile GM Don Waddell has been busy with some off ice business. The team has announced they've terminated the contract of Alexander Pashin.
Pashin was a former seventh round pick in 2020 and spent the entire 2023-24 season in the KHL. The 21-year-old now becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. With Spartak Moskva this season, Pashin recorded 10 goals and nine assists in 60 games and added another four points in 11 playoff games.

Last season Pashin made his way to North America, spending the season with the Chicago Wolves, appearing in 47 AHL games, tallying 10 points.
The Hurricanes were a mess organizationally with their minor-league system and didn't have an AHL club to send Pashin down to so that's why he ended up back in the KHL this season. Pashin made a name for himself in the preseason of 2022, when he pulled off a Michigan goal with this beauty:

Once Pashin clears waivers, look for him to either stay in the KHL next season or sign a two-way contract with another NHL club this summer.
