Flames Rumors: Andrew Mangiapane Trade Talk Heating Up

The Calgary Flames made an array of changes during the 2023-24 season. Elias Lindholm, Noah Hanifin, Chris Tanev, and Nikita Zadorov were all dealt to new clubs during the campaign. Now, with the offseason almost here, more moves are surely on the way as they continue their retool.

Because of this, NHL insider Frank Seravalli listed Flames forward Andrew Mangiapane at the No. 17 spot on his recent Trade Targets board for Daily Faceoff

Mangiapane is entering the final season of his contract, so it makes sense that Seravalli views him as a prime trade candidate. Given how things have gone in past years with Flames and their pending UFAs, it would make sense for them to explore Mangiapane's market instead of running the risk of losing him for nothing.

Mangiapane, 28, could certainly grab the attention of teams looking for more scoring in their middle six. The Toronto native is known for producing solid secondary scoring, and he showed that this season with the Flames. In 75 games, he posted 14 goals and 40 points. However, he also has the potential to provide more, as he had an impressive 35 goals and 55 points during the 2021-22 season.

The Flames have a big decision to make with Mangiapane this summer. They could likely get a decent return for him, but time will tell if they end up dealing him from here.
