Hurricanes Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Brett Pesce
Now that the Carolina Hurricanes' season is over, they have a ton of big decisions to make. They have multiple of the NHL's top pending unrestricted free agents, and one of them is defenseman Brett Pesce. The right-shot defenseman will be a hot commodity if he hits the free-agent market. Thus, let's go over three teams who could try to sign him now.
Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to improve the right side of their defense this offseason. It is a major need for the Original Six club, and a player like Pesce should get their attention because of it. He would give them a much-needed shutdown defenseman and be a fit for their top pairing.
Ottawa Senators: The Ottawa Senators also must improve the right side of their defensive group. It is a weak part of their roster right now, and adding Pesce would be a great way to change that. He would be an outstanding addition to their top four and would become one of their top penalty killers if signed.
Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars have expressed interest in Pesce before and could look to add him this summer if they can't re-sign Chris Tanev and/or Jani Hakanpaa. Pesce would be a huge addition for a contender like the Stars, as he would significantly improve their right side.
