Hurricanes Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Brady Skjei
Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Brady Skjei has made it clear that his top priority this offseason will be to get a "fair offer" for his next contract. As a result, if the Hurricanes don't give him what he is looking for, he will likely test free agency. Let's discuss three teams who could target him in that scenario now.
Boston Bruins: The Boston Bruins are entering the summer with a lot of cap space to work with. With Matt Grzelcyk and Derek Forbort both likely done in Boston, the Bruins will need to add a left-shot defenseman. Skjei would be a huge addition to their top four and both special team units if signed.
Los Angeles Kings: The Los Angeles Kings need to improve the left side of their defense. It is one of their weakest spots, and bringing in a player like Skjei would change that. He would fit in their top four nicely and also give them some much-needed offense from the point.
Philadelphia Flyers: The Philadelphia Flyers could look to do some spending this season after taking a nice step in the right direction this year. Bringing in a veteran like Skjei would greatly improve their blue line, and he would be a great mentor for their younger players as they look to become more competitive.
