Islanders Rumors: Brock Nelson Linked to Central Team
New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson is a player to watch very closely in the trade market this summer. The star forward has been creating plenty of buzz in the rumor mill, as he is entering the final season of his deal.
Due to Nelson’s potential availability, the skilled forward is already generating interest around the NHL. One specific team that has Nelson on their radar is the Nashville Predators.
The Predators are actively looking to improve their forward group this offseason after taking a big step forward during the 2023-24 season. Their top six needs a boost and more scoring, so it is not surprising that Nelson has grabbed their attention.
Nelson would fit virtually anywhere in the Predators’ top six, as he can play both down the middle and on the wing. In addition, his offensive ability would make him an obvious choice for the Predators’ top power play unit.
Given how well Nelson has played over the last several seasons, there is no question that he is going to generate a ton of interest around the NHL if he is officially shopped. On paper, the Predators look like an excellent fit, but we will need to wait and see if they can successfully land him this offseason from here.
