Jets Rumors: 3 Free-Agent Destinations for Sean Monahan
The Winnipeg Jets' season ended on Tuesday (April 30), as they lost to the Colorado Avalanche in Game 5 by a 6-3 final score. This result ended their brutal playoff performance, and now they face an offseason of uncertainty.
One player who they could end up losing is pending UFA forward Sean Monahan. After an impressive season, he will be looking for a nice payday. If the Jets decide not to bring him back, look for these three teams to target him.
Boston Bruins: The Boston Bruins have been connected to Monahan in the past and could look to add him this offseason. It is not a secret that they could use some improvement down the middle, and Monahan would give them just that. He would be a nice addition to their top six and power play.
Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche have tried to acquire Monahan on several occasions. When he was available this season by the Montreal Canadiens, the Avs were in the mix. As a result, it would not be surprising if they tried to add Monahan to their middle six this summer.
Edmonton Oilers: The Edmonton Oilers could look to bring in Monahan this offseason to their top nine. They were one of the many teams linked to him this season, and he would be a nice upgrade to their group if signed.
