NHL Rumors: Blackhawks Considering Patrick Kane Reunion

During the 2022-23 season, the Chicago Blackhawks traded star forward Patrick Kane to the New York Rangers. It officially began the start of the Blackhawks' new era, as Kane is one of the greatest figures of their history.

However, it now seems that there is a chance that Kane could end up back in Chicago. According to The Athletic's Scott Powers, the Blackhawks' front office are likely to have internal discussions over the next couple of weeks about the prospect of bringing No. 88 back.

With the Blackhawks now having top rookie Connor Bedard, there is no question that they need to add more scorers around him to help his development. Bringing back a star like Kane would certainly help with that, as he showed this season with the Detroit Red Wings that he is still a very impactful NHL forward.

Kane appeared in 50 games this season with the Red Wings, where he had 20 goals to go along with 47 points. It was an excellent bounce-back season for Kane, and he will have plenty of interest this summer if he hits the market again because of it.

It will now be very interesting to see what happens with Kane this offseason. Bringing back Kane would make for quite the story, but the Blackhawks will need to decide if he can fit into their rebuilding plans from here.
