NHL Rumors: Kings & Blues Could Strike Summer Deal

The St. Louis Blues have a big decision to make this offseason when it comes to Pavel Buchnevich. The star winger is entering the final season of his contract and can become an unrestricted free agent during the 2025 NHL Offseason because of it. He created plenty of chatter leading up to the deadline, but the Blues elected to hold on to him.

However, there is some expectation that the Blues will be open to hearing offers for Buchnevich during the summer because of his contract nearing its completion. If he is shopped, there is no question that the Los Angeles Kings need to be watched closely.

The Kings have struggled with scoring trouble this year. There is no question that they could use a proven top-six winger in their lineup, and Buchnevich would give them just that. He would work on their top line and also give their power play a massive jolt. Along with that, he also can kill penalties if needed because of his steady defensive play.

The Kings are going to be making some changes to their roster this offseason if they end up losing in the first round again this year. Adding a star like Buchnevich would be a massive step in the right direction, so let's see if they end up targeting him.
