Penguins Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Reilly Smith
The Pittsburgh Penguins are entering the offseason with forward Reilly Smith being their top trade candidate. The veteran winger picked up a lot of buzz in the rumor mill this season but stayed put. However, the Penguins are expected to shop him again this summer, and these three clubs should be in the mix.
Nashville Predators: The Nashville Predators were heavily linked to Smith leading up to the deadline, and they could target him again this offseason. It is not a secret that their middle six needs to improve if they hope to become a bigger threat in the Western Conference. Bringing in a player like Smith would help with that.
Chicago Blackhawks: The Chicago Blackhawks will look to improve their forward group this offseason. Connor Bedard needs more help around him, and bringing in a veteran scorer like Smith could benefit them because of it. He also would be a good mentor for the club’s younger players because of his experience.
Vegas Golden Knights: The Vegas Golden Knights are another team to pay attention to when it comes to Smith. He was a huge part of their roster for several seasons, and they missed him this season. Because of this and their top nine being a boost, it would make sense for them to look to bring him back to Vegas.
