Predators Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Tyson Barrie

The 2023-24 season was a tough one for Tyson Barrie. The veteran defenseman fell out of favor with the Nashville Predators and never got the change of scenery that he was hoping for. While this is the case, his contract is now expired, and he will get to test free agency because of it. Let's discuss three teams who could take a shot on him this offseason now.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning need to improve the right side of their defense. Because of this, they could take a chance on Barrie on a one-year deal. If he finds his old form, he would be a huge addition to their power play and could work well playing with their star talent.

Florida Panthers: The Florida Panthers could be in the market for defensive depth this offseason. Barrie would be a good player for them to take a shot on, as he would give them more offense from the point. With that, he could find success playing with big-name players like Matthew Tkachuk and Aleksander Barkov.

Minnesota Wild: The Minnesota Wild could use more offense from the point, so a player like Barrie could grab their attention. He would give them more depth on the blueline, and he likely could be had for a cheap price. With Minnesota dealing with the Ryan Suter and Zach Parise buyout penalties, they could go bargain shopping for a player like Barrie.
