Senators Rumors: Jakob Chychrun Linked to Pacific Team

The Ottawa Senators are expected to shop star defenseman Jakob Chychrun this offseason. It is understandable, as he is entering the final season of his deal and has not expressed interest in signing a contract extension. With that, he was also made available before the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline.

Chychrun will certainly be a hot commodity this offseason, as he is a top-pairing defenseman who contributes well offensively and is dependable defensively. One specific team who is expected to target Chychrun this offseason is the Los Angeles Kings.

The Kings have been connected to Chychrun in the past, and they likely will try to land him again when noting that their left side needs some help. Chychrun would work beautifully on their top pairing and also be a big time addition to both their power play and their penalty kill.

After a disappointing and short playoff run this year, the Kings are due for some big moves and overall changes. Bringing in a star like Chychrun would be a great first step for the club, so look for them to make a serious push for Chychrun over the next several weeks from here.
