Sharks Rumors: 3 Offseason Suitors for Alexander Barabanov

Alexander Barabanov will walk straight into free agency this summer, as the San Jose Sharks have informed him that they are not bringing him back. After a rough 2023-24 season, Barabanov will now look to bounce back with a new team. Given his past success, there will be interest. Let's go over three teams who should look to sign him.

Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche were connected to Barabanov leading up to the deadline. When noting that they have several free agent forwards heading into the summer and not a lot of cap space, they could take a chance on Barabanov in hopes that he bounces back. It worked with Jonathan Drouin.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning are going to look for affordable forwards for their bottom six. As a result, they could consider adding Barabanov this summer. They were linked to him at the deadline, and he could fit in nicely on their third line and power play if signed.

Chicago Blackhawks: The Chicago Blackhawks need to add more forwards to their roster this offseason. Barabanov could be a solid addition to their group, as he would give their middle six a boost. Along with that, he would be a nice playmaker for the club to have on their power play if he regains his previous form. Keep in mind, he had 47 points in 68 games just back in 2022-23.
