3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Vincent Desharnais

There's a real feeling that Edmonton Oilers defenseman Vincent Desharnais will hit the free agent market on July 1. If he does, there should be a lot of interest in him, as he is a 6-foot-7 right-shot defenseman who plays a heavy game and works on the bottom pairing. Let's discuss three teams who could target him now.

Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs are going to look to make their blueline tougher next season. Their right side needs some serious help, and Desharnais would be a good depth addition to their roster because of it. Thus, don't be surprised if Toronto ends up being in the mix.

Ottawa Senators: The Ottawa Senators are another club that could be in the mix for Desharnais this offseason. They could use another option for the right side of their third pairing, and Desharnais would provide them with just that if signed.

Dallas Stars: The Dallas Stars could make a push for Desharnais if they lose Jani Hakanpaa to free agency this summer. Desharnais would be a nice replacement for Hakanpaa on their bottom pairing and would certainly make up for the size lost.
