3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Elias Lindholm

The NHL's free agency period opens up next week and look for Elias Lindholm to be one of the most attractive players on the market. All signs are pointing to him leaving the Vancouver Canucks and testing the market and there's going to be a number of interested teams looking to add the veteran centre.

Here's three teams who are likely the favorites as Lindholm looks to cash in:

Nashville Predators

No income tax, nice weather, an up and coming team, Lindholm to the Predators makes a ton of sense as Barry Trotz has money to burn this summer and is looking for more offense. Lindholm and Ryan O'Reilly would be an impressive 1-2 down the middle and two centers who can play in all situations. Keep an eye on the Predators.

Boston Bruins

While they moved on Linus Ullmark, the trade with Ottawa left many scratching their heads. The Bruins didn't create a ton of cap space in the trade and now move ahead to the offseason with $21.5 million to spend, meanwhile they need to add at least one defenseman and three forwards. Lindholm would give them an immediate boost down the middle and slide directly onto their top line with David Pastrnak, which is going to be a very strong selling point in Boston.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings dumped some salary in Jake Walman to the Sharks on Tuesday and now have $32.7 million to spend this summer. There's no doubt Steve Yzerman is looking to make a giant splash and Lindholm could be someone he targets. The Red Wings are done developing and now it's time to win, adding the very versatile Lindholm would be positive step in the right direction.
