3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Patrick Kane

Patrick Kane enjoyed his season with the Detroit Red Wings, however at the end of the year seemed to close the book on his tenure.

Kane is expected to hit the open market on July 1 and is an intriguing option for a lot of expected contenders. Even coming off hip surgery, Kane enjoyed a fine season as a Red Wing, posting 47 points in 50 games. At full strength, he's still one of the best offensive weapons in the league.

Kane is going to have a long list of suitors reach out, here's three teams he may sign with:

New York Rangers

The word is Kane wasn't happy with how things played out in New York and could be looking to give it another shot now that he's fully healthy again. With the Rangers at the end of the 2022-23 season, Kane produced 12 points in 19 games and another six points in seven playoff games. GM Chris Drury has been busy creating more cap space by losing Barclay Goodrow off his books, so this money could now be used on a veteran winger like Kane.

Nashville Predators

The Predators are looking for more offense and with no state income tax, could offer Kane more actual cash than most teams. Barry Trotz has plenty of cap space to work with and even though the Predators are re-tooling on the fly, they are hoping to compete for a Stanley Cup next season. Kane would help push them closer to being in the conversation of actual contenders.

Carolina Hurricanes

The 'Canes aren't expecting Jake Guentzel to return and will have a hole to fill on the wing, Kane could be a viable replacement. The Hurricanes aren't shy to make bold moves and have been missing a game-changer for quite some time, which was one of the many reasons Guentzel was added. Kane could be next in Carolina.
