3 Potential Free-Agent Destinations for Ryan Suter
The Dallas Stars have officially bought out defenseman Ryan Suter, meaning he is hitting the free-agent market. While he is no longer the top-pairing defenseman he was during his prime, he is expected to generate interest because he is still serviceable on the bottom pairing. Let's discuss three teams who could look to sign him because of this now.
Los Angeles Kings: The LA Kings will likely look to add to the left side of their defense this summer. It is an area that could use a bit more depth, and Suter would provide them with that. On their bottom pairing, he would offer a bit more stability and plenty of experience.
Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche are likely to bring in a bottom-pairing left-shot defenseman this offseason. Suter would make sense for them because of this. In addition, it is possible that Suter would like to play there, as they are a consistent threat for the Stanley Cup.
Detroit Red Wings: The Detroit Red Wings could be in the mix for Suter on July 1. Their defense could use a bit more depth, and Suter would make sense for them at a cheap price. In addition, it would not hurt for them to add a veteran like him to help mentor some of their younger players.
