3 Potential Trade Destinations for Ilya Mikheyev

Vancouver Canucks forward Ilya Mikheyev has been made available for trade. It is understandable, as he had a rough season, and the Canucks need to free up cap space to make big moves this offseason. As a result of this, let's go over three teams who could be willing to trade for Mikheyev.

San Jose Sharks: The San Jose Sharks are entering the summer with a plethora of cap space. As a rebuilding team, they could be open to taking on Mikheyev's $4.75 million cap hit until the end of 2025-26 if it means landing a nice asset with it. In addition, if he bounced back, he would be a nice addition to their middle six.

Chicago Blackhawks: The Chicago Blackhawks are another team that could take a chance on Mikheyev. Besides likely landing a sweetener for taking on his contract, he also would have the potential to give the Blackhawks' offense a boost. The Blackhawks need more offense, and Mikheyev provides that when performing at his best.

Anaheim Ducks: The Anaheim Ducks are expected to have a busy summer. It is not a secret that they need more offense in their top nine, so they could take a flier on Mikheyev. He would have the potential to fit in nicely on their third line and would be an obvious choice for their power play.
