Capitals Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Offseason

Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2024 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.

In this latest edition of the series, we will be taking a look at the Washington Capitals.

Elias Lindholm: One of the Capitals' top objectives this offseason should be to add a top-six center. They need to improve this position if they hope to improve their scoring in 2024-25, so a player like Elias Lindholm could make sense for them. They were interested in him this season, too, so there could be a good match here.

Anthony Duclair: Adding a scoring winger to their middle six is another priority for the Capitals this summer. Because of this, Anthony Duclair stands out as a solid potential target. He would have the potential to work nicely on their second line and would give their power play a nice boost.

James van Riemsdyk: James van Riemsdyk could a player that gets Washington's attention this offseason. If signed, he would give their bottom six more production and also work on their power play because of his net-front presence ability. JVR would also get the chance to play with his brother Trevor van Riemsdyk if signed.
