Flames Rumors: 4 Teams Linked to Jacob Markstrom

Calgary Flames goaltender Jacob Markstrom is one of the top trade candidates heading into the 2024 NHL Offseason. After almost being moved at the deadline, the expectation is that he will get traded before the start of next season.

According to The Fourth Period, Markstrom's market is heating up big time, as the New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Carolina Hurricanes are all linked to him.

The Devils came close to acquiring Markstrom at the deadline, but the deal fell through. Yet, with the Devils still looking for their true No. 1 goalie, it is not shocking that they are still in the mix for him this offseason.

The Maple Leafs will look to improve in net, as Ilya Samsonov is not expected to be brought back. Joseph Woll could use a proven starter to work with, and Markstrom would give the Leafs just that.

The Senators have made it clear that are aggressively looking to add a star goalie between the pipes. Their goaltending this season was awful, and they desperately need to fix it if they hope to actually compete for a playoff spot next season.

As for the Canes, after another disappointing playoff run, they also could use an upgrade between the pipes. Thus, it makes sense that they are in on Markstrom.
